Day 1 - Arrival in Bordeaux

Welcome by your guide and coach in the afternoon at St Jean train station or Bordeaux Airport and transfer to your hotel in Bordeaux city center.

The rest of the afternoon is free or possibility to organise a visit of Bordeaux cultural and gastronomic experiences.

Dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 2 - Bordeaux

In the morning, guided walking tour of the heart of Bordeaux and the quays, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lunch in the city centre.

In the afternoon, visit of the pools of light; Enjoy an unusual visual and sound perspective by crossing the footbridges above the pools to the gigantic quays. The projection of immersive digital exhibitions on the walls more than 12 metres high, as well as their reflections in the water, punctuated by a musical creation, allow you to discover in a different way the universe of the great names in the history of art.

Dinner and night.

 

Day 3 - St Emilion

A day dedicated to the wines that have made Bordeaux and its region famous.

Visit a château in Saint-Emilion: approach the vineyard to discover the origin of the wine, pass through the wine storehouse to understand the stages of vinification, then pass through the heart of the barrel cellar. Wine tasting with chocolate.

Lunch in a restaurant in the village of St Emilion.

Guided tour of the village of St Emilion: Mound, cloister, town gate, fortifications and underground monuments have so much to tell you.

Dinner and night.

 

Day 4 - Arcachon

In the morning, head for the Dune du Pilat. Essentially known for its exceptional dimensions, the Dune du Pilat is also renowned for the beauty and diversity of its natural environment. Climb up the stairs to the top of the dune.

Road to Arcachon and lunch.

Guided tour of the winter quarter in Arcachon, one of the most original groups of villas dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries, and of the port, which continues an artisanal fishing and oyster farming activity.   Dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 5 - Blaye

Road to Blaye and visit of the fortress through the underground and city tour

Winegrowers' picnic in a cellar or garden (depending on the weather) in the vicinity of Blaye, followed by a visit to the cellars and the cooperage workshop, exhibition of old cooper's tools and an educational trail on the making of barrels and the influence of barrel ageing, tasting of 3 wines.

On the way back, walk along the Corniche Road, a picturesque road also known as the Corniche Fleurie or the Captains' Road. You will be able to admire beautiful houses built by former sailors along the way. This 13km route is punctuated by stops with explanatory panels named windows on the estuary: the tidal bore, the islands, the fish, the wrecks.

Dinner and night.

 

Day 6 - Sauternes

Road to Bazas. Relive the history of a two-thousand year old city, which was, as the

Saint John the Baptist Cathedral, the seat of an imposing diocese. Bazas still has part of its fortifications, of which the Gisquet Gate remains the most remarkable work. Around its arcaded square, the Maison de l'Astronome, the Presidential Palace, the Halle and the old Town Hall, are the notable monuments that reflect the new development experienced from the beginning of the modern era. Lunch in Bazas

Drive to an estate near the village and visit followed by a tasting of Sauternes wines.

Visit of the village of Sauternes in the afternoon .

Dinner and night.

Day 7 - Le Cap Ferret

Road to Cap Ferret and visit of the different districts on foot with your guide passing by the lighthouse, the blockhouse, the most beautiful beaches....

Lunch at Lège cap Ferret.

Then boarding on the boat for the visit of the Arcachon basin via the Île aux Oiseaux and the Tchanquées huts.

Return to your hotel in Bordeaux.

Day 8 - return

Free morning - Late morning transfer to Gare St Jean or Bordeaux airport.
