Explore your itinerary day by day

DAY 1 :Château HAUT-MENEAU (Côtes de Blaye)- Château FIGEAC(St-Emilion)

Your expert will pick you up at your hotel (preferably located in the city of BORDEAUX) at approximately 9:30am.

Then we’ll drive to the COTES de BLAYE region/vineyard, to visit château HAUT-MENEAU, owned by Jacques BRAVARD, an artisan winemaker who decided to change direction, turning his estate organic.

We’ll tour the winery, the vineyard, and taste the wines of the estate.

We’ll have lunch either in the vineyards, with a picnic style meal, weather permitting, with « entrecôte Bordelaise » (specially prepared beef) grilled right in the field on a fire using the grape branches, accompanied with wines from château HAUT-MENEAU or at a restaurant located in the town of BLAYE, with an impressive view of the GIRONDE River.

Lunch (wine included): picnic at Château HAUT-MENEAU or restaurant in the city of BLAYE

In the afternoon, we’ll head toward the town of SAINT-EMILION, to visit château FIGEAC (first growth “cru classé” of SAINT-EMILION, 3 wine tasting included). Château FIGEAC has a unique style, smooth, elegant, fresh and perfectly balanced. A great example of SAINT-EMILION wine.

We’ll dine at the restaurant of the château Hotel GRAND BARRAIL, also our accommodation for the night, offering creative cuisine.

For the night, enjoy a room at the beautiful château hotel GRAND BARRAIL, a 4-Star luxury hotel surrounded by a 7-acre park and vineyards, located next to the village of SAINT-EMILION.

Dinner (wine included): restaurant of the château hotel GRAND BARRAIL, village of Saint-Emilion

Accommodation: Château Hôtel GRAND BARRAIL, village of St-Emilion.

DAY 2 : Château SUDUIRAUT (Sauternes)-Château PETIT-VILLAGE (Pomerol - visit, tasting, lunch with wine included)-Château CLOS FOURTET(St-Emilion)

We start day 2 at 9.00am with a visit to the Château SUDUIRAUT (45 min drive from our hotel) for an aroma workshop (you’ll train your nose and palette, discovering the aromas of SAUTERNES wine), followed by a visit and a tasting of 3 vintages (2006, 1999, 1989, upon availability). Then we will drive to the village of POMEROL.

Lunch in St-émilion (« L’envers du décor » restaurant or « Les Perdrix de Tronplong Mondot », wines/liquor not included).

In the afternoon, we’ll drive back to SAINT-EMILION. Another excellent tasting awaits you at the Château CLOS FOURTET (2 wines included: 2013 and 2008, upon availability). This château is a jewel in the village of SAINT-EMILION.

A guided visit of St-émilion village can be added for an additionnal fee of $75/person.

We’ll leave Château CLOS FOURTET and take a 5 minute walk to the village of SAINT-EMILION. You can have free time on your own to discover the village, approximately 3 hours, before dinner, or take part in a guided visit of the underground monuments of SAINT-EMILION village (included in the price of the tour). The village and the vineyards have been classified as a UNESCO world heritage site. This place will definitely capture your heart.

Free evening (transportation available) , your expert is at your disposal for recommandation.

Accommodation: Château Hôtel GRAND BARRAIL , village of St-Emilion

DAY 3 : Domaine de CHEVALIER (Pessac-Léognan, subject to availability, or château CARBONIEUX)-Château SMITH HAUT LAFFITE (Pessac-Léognan)

We start day 3 at around 9.15am with a visit to the Domaine de CHEVALIER which is a  « Grand Cru classé de GRAVES », right outside the city of BORDEAUX (including 1 wine tasting) or château CARBONIEUX, “Grand Cru Classé” de GRAVES (including 3 wine tasting, vintage 2015, 2013 and 2010 and a visit of  the old winemaker’s tools collection).

For our 2nd stop, we’ll visit the château SMITH HAUT LAFFITE, a great experience with a surprising food pairing, and one of the most elegant places in the PESSAC area. The style is unique, with increasing efforts toward an organic vineyard management ( 2wines and chocolate tasting experience)

Today’s lunch will be at the restaurant La BRASSERIE du LAC, located in the village of Margaux, or equivalent. You’ll be able to admire the beauty of the vineyards before having lunch. Lunch: restaurant « La Brasserie du Lac », village of Margaux (wine not included)

In the afternoon, we’ll be expected at the Château MARGAUX. We will be able to visit the winery, the cellar and the barrel-making area, but as a very exclusive winery they don’t propose any wine tasting .

Château MARGAUX : visit (no tasting) upon availability. If you want to taste Château MARGAUX, we can provide a bottle with additionnal fee.

Our last stop will be Château CANTENAC-BROWN, known for their elegant wine but also one of the most impressive buildings in the area (Tudor-style architecture).

Next, we’ll check into our accommodation for 2 nights, hôtel CHATEAU de CORDEILLAN BAGES, a 4-Star hôtel « Relais et Châteaux », located among the vineyards of PAUILLAC.

Dinner will be at the restaurant LE SAVOIE, an intimate gastronomic restaurant in the village of MARGAUX.(Wine not included)

Accommodation : Hôtel Château CORDEILLAN BAGES, 4* Relais et Châteaux, village of Pauillac. (owing to availability)

DAY 4 :Château LEOVILLE- BARTON (St-Julien)-Château PICHON BARON  (Pauillac)-Château MOUTON ROSCHILD (Pauillac)

In the morning, we’ll start in the appellation of SAINT-JULIEN, visiting the Château LEOVILLE-BARTON (a 2nd classified growth, 1 wine from the barrel tasting included, upon availability).

Then, the prestigious appellation of PAUILLAC, with a stop at one of the finest châteaux, Château PICHON BARON.

Free lunch - we can provide you with suggestions where to go OR lunch at Château PICHON BARON with a $250 additionnal fee.

After lunch, we will enjoy a « tour exclusive »: Château MOUTON-ROSCHILD (1st classified growth), with a 2h30 visit and private tasting, including a 3 wine tasting.

Tonight’s dinner will be at the restaurant « L’ESTACADE », in the city of BORDEAUX, located on a dock offering a breathtaking view of the Gironde River, traditional French cuisine and superb wine list.

Accommodation: Hôtel Château CORDEILLAN BAGES, village of Pauillac. (owing to avaialability)

DAY 5: Château PHELAN SEGUR (Saint-Estèphe - visit, tasting, cooking lesson, lunch with wine included)

In the morning, we’ll drive to the SAINT-ESTEPHE area to visit the Château PHELAN-SEGUR.

A cooking lesson followed by a tasting at Château PHELAN SEGUR can be added for 250$/person.

Different options can be presented to you, like a vertical tasting or a cooking lesson hosted by the château’s chef followed by a complete visit and a wine tasting lunch at the château.

Château TRONQUOY LALANDE : light lunch with tapas, visit and tasting (2/3 wines)

OR : Visit at the new « Cité du vin » exhibition center in Bordeaux.

At 3.00pm, we’ll drive back to the town of BORDEAUX, to explore the famous « Quai des Chartrons ».

Diner will be on your own, not included in the tour but we’ll guide you to find a fantastic place.

We will give you advice and directions to spend a wonderful evening in the city of BORDEAUX.

We’ve come to the end of our time together. We can escort you to an accommodation of your choice to continue your stay in the city of Bordeaux (not included in the tour), or the Bordeaux train station or airport.

Ask your expert to add a night on Bordeaux on Day 5 for a last evening in town and do your shopping before leaving.

All accommodations, hotels, meals, dinners and visits noted in the itinerary are subject to change upon availability at the time of the booking. You’ll be notified of any changes at least fifteen (15) days before the first day of the tour, and we’ll provide you with a list of itinerary changes (including wineries or Châteaux, with similar rankings as the original offer).

End of our services

The tour will start from the city of BORDEAUX, where we recommend that you book a hotel to be on the day prior to the departure start of the tour (not included in the tour). We will pick you up at your hotel and then start the tour (DAY 1 in the itinerary).

Your expert propose some special wine you can drink during this trip in the restaurants,that we advise to order prior your arrival (from 350€ to 1500€ per bottle)

This program does not include:

  • International air fares: you will arrive independently in PARIS or BORDEAUX (the tour starts in BORDEAUX). VINEYARD to VINEYARDS LLC can help you to book a hotel in BORDEAUX prior to the start of the tour. We can also assist you in booking a flight or train from PARIS to BORDEAUX.
  • Transportation back to PARIS or any place except BORDEAUX and then back to the USA, and accommodations prior to the first day of the tour departure and after tour ends (DAY 5, 6.00pm) are not included.
  • Transportation from your arrival airport to your hotel (accommodation you book prior to the departure of the tour)
  • Wine during some lunches/dinners, as indicated in the itinerary, liquor
  • Personal travel insurance. We strongly recommend that you make sure you have good personal travel insurance (including sickness, personal injuries, baggage and personal effects losses, thefts, trip cancellation coverage).
  • Personal expenses (hotel expenses such as minibar, phone calls from France, tips and gratuities)
  • Personal travel insurance
  • Special requests or expenses after the tour starts (additional fees will be charged)

SPECIAL REQUESTS

VINEYARD to VINEYARDS LLC designed the tour with the selected châteaux. If you have special requests, for example, a specific château you want to visit, please enquire before the booking. VINEYARD to VINEYARDS LLC covers the cost of the entry and tasting fees at the châteaux and meals as described in the itinerary. If a tour member has additional requests while tasting for a different wine or vintage, it will be an additional charge. The menus (lunches and dinners) are planned in advance with restaurants and châteaux. If you have any allergies or food issues, please inform us when booking. We’ll make arrangements for you.

PRICING

Prices are subject to change with the exchange rate (dollar/euro). A fee may be added to the final payment to cover the changes. You will receive a notification by email and/or phone about the change within a minimum of 15 days prior to the first day of the tour.

Cancellation policy :

  • The refund will be 100% of the deposit and 100% of what has been paid beyond the deposit up to the date of cancellation.
    If the tour is cancelled by the tour member, the cancellation will be received by the DMC by email or registered mail:
  • From the booking date up to fifteen (15) days prior to the departure of the tour: 100% of the deposit minus a $100 fee will be refunded ($400), and 100% of what has been paid beyond the deposit will be refunded within thirty (30) days.
  • From fourteen (14) days to seven (7) days prior to the departure of the tour: 50% of the deposit will be refunded and 50% of what has been paid beyond the deposit will be refunded within thirty (30) days.
  • From six (6) days to the day prior to the departure of the tour: no deposit will be refunded and  50% of what has been paid beyond the deposit will be refunded within thirty (30) days.
  • You will be refunded by check or bank tranfer within thirty (30) days.
    Please check with us before buying your tickets, in order for us to verify your arrival and departure schedule and ensure that we have the minimum participants to organize the trip. The tour will be operated with a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 10 people.

VINEYARD to VINEYARDS LLC covers the cost of the entry and tasting fees at the châteaux and meals as described in the itinerary. If a tour member has additional requests while tasting for a different wine or vintage, it will be an additional charge. The menus (lunches and dinners) are planned in advance with restaurants and châteaux. If you have any allergies or food issues, please inform us when booking. We’ll make arrangements for you.

PRICING

Prices are subject to change with the exchange rate (dollar/euro). A fee may be added to the final payment to cover the changes. You will receive a notification by email and/or phone about the change within a minimum of 15 days prior to the first day of the tour.

Cancellation policy :

  • The refund will be 100% of the deposit and 100% of what has been paid beyond the deposit up to the date of cancellation.
    If the tour is cancelled by the tour member, the cancellation will be received by the DMC by email or registered mail:
  • From the booking date up to fifteen (15) days prior to the departure of the tour: 100% of the deposit minus a $100 fee will be refunded ($400), and 100% of what has been paid beyond the deposit will be refunded within thirty (30) days.
  • From fourteen (14) days to seven (7) days prior to the departure of the tour: 50% of the deposit will be refunded and 50% of what has been paid beyond the deposit will be refunded within thirty (30) days.
  • From six (6) days to the day prior to the departure of the tour: no deposit will be refunded and  50% of what has been paid beyond the deposit will be refunded within thirty (30) days.
  • You will be refunded by check or bank tranfer within thirty (30) days.

Explore your itinerary day by day

DAY 1 :Château HAUT-MENEAU (Côtes de Blaye)- Château FIGEAC(St-Emilion)

Your expert will pick you up at your hotel (preferably located in the city of BORDEAUX) at approximately 9:30am.

Then we’ll drive to the COTES de BLAYE region/vineyard, to visit château HAUT-MENEAU, owned by Jacques BRAVARD, an artisan winemaker who decided to change direction, turning his estate organic.

We’ll tour the winery, the vineyard, and taste the wines of the estate.

We’ll have lunch either in the vineyards, with a picnic style meal, weather permitting, with « entrecôte Bordelaise » (specially prepared beef) grilled right in the field on a fire using the grape branches, accompanied with wines from château HAUT-MENEAU or at a restaurant located in the town of BLAYE, with an impressive view of the GIRONDE River.

Lunch (wine included): picnic at Château HAUT-MENEAU or restaurant in the city of BLAYE

In the afternoon, we’ll head toward the town of SAINT-EMILION, to visit château FIGEAC (first growth “cru classé” of SAINT-EMILION, 3 wine tasting included). Château FIGEAC has a unique style, smooth, elegant, fresh and perfectly balanced. A great example of SAINT-EMILION wine.

We’ll dine at the restaurant of the château Hotel GRAND BARRAIL, also our accommodation for the night, offering creative cuisine.

For the night, enjoy a room at the beautiful château hotel GRAND BARRAIL, a 4-Star luxury hotel surrounded by a 7-acre park and vineyards, located next to the village of SAINT-EMILION.

DAY 2 : Château SUDUIRAUT (Sauternes)-Château PETIT-VILLAGE (Pomerol – visit, tasting, lunch with wine included)-Château CLOS FOURTET(St-Emilion)

We start day 2 at 9.00am with a visit to the Château SUDUIRAUT (45 min drive from our hotel) for an aroma workshop (you’ll train your nose and palette, discovering the aromas of SAUTERNES wine), followed by a visit and a tasting of 3 vintages (2006, 1999, 1989, upon availability). Then we will drive to the village of POMEROL.

Lunch in St-émilion (« L’envers du décor » restaurant or « Les Perdrix de Tronplong Mondot », wines/liquor not included).

In the afternoon, we’ll drive back to SAINT-EMILION. Another excellent tasting awaits you at the Château CLOS FOURTET (2 wines included: 2013 and 2008, upon availability). This château is a jewel in the village of SAINT-EMILION.

A guided visit of St-émilion village can be added for an additionnal fee of $75/person.

We’ll leave Château CLOS FOURTET and take a 5 minute walk to the village of SAINT-EMILION. You can have free time on your own to discover the village, approximately 3 hours, before dinner, or take part in a guided visit of the underground monuments of SAINT-EMILION village (included in the price of the tour). The village and the vineyards have been classified as a UNESCO world heritage site. This place will definitely capture your heart.

DAY 3 : Domaine de CHEVALIER (Pessac-Léognan, subject to availability, or château CARBONIEUX)-Château SMITH HAUT LAFFITE (Pessac-Léognan)

We start day 3 at around 9.15am with a visit to the Domaine de CHEVALIER which is a  « Grand Cru classé de GRAVES », right outside the city of BORDEAUX (including 1 wine tasting) or château CARBONIEUX, “Grand Cru Classé” de GRAVES (including 3 wine tasting, vintage 2015, 2013 and 2010 and a visit of  the old winemaker’s tools collection).

For our 2nd stop, we’ll visit the château SMITH HAUT LAFFITE, a great experience with a surprising food pairing, and one of the most elegant places in the PESSAC area. The style is unique, with increasing efforts toward an organic vineyard management ( 2wines and chocolate tasting experience)

Today’s lunch will be at the restaurant La BRASSERIE du LAC, located in the village of Margaux, or equivalent. You’ll be able to admire the beauty of the vineyards before having lunch. Lunch: restaurant « La Brasserie du Lac », village of Margaux (wine not included)

In the afternoon, we’ll be expected at the Château MARGAUX. We will be able to visit the winery, the cellar and the barrel-making area, but as a very exclusive winery they don’t propose any wine tasting .

Château MARGAUX : visit (no tasting) upon availability. If you want to taste Château MARGAUX, we can provide a bottle with additionnal fee.

Our last stop will be Château CANTENAC-BROWN, known for their elegant wine but also one of the most impressive buildings in the area (Tudor-style architecture).

Next, we’ll check into our accommodation for 2 nights, hôtel CHATEAU de CORDEILLAN BAGES, a 4-Star hôtel « Relais et Châteaux », located among the vineyards of PAUILLAC.

Dinner will be at the restaurant LE SAVOIE, an intimate gastronomic restaurant in the village of MARGAUX.(Wine not included)

DAY 4 :Château LEOVILLE- BARTON (St-Julien)-Château PICHON BARON  (Pauillac)-Château MOUTON ROSCHILD (Pauillac)

In the morning, we’ll start in the appellation of SAINT-JULIEN, visiting the Château LEOVILLE-BARTON (a 2nd classified growth, 1 wine from the barrel tasting included, upon availability).

Then, the prestigious appellation of PAUILLAC, with a stop at one of the finest châteaux, Château PICHON BARON.

Free lunch – we can provide you with suggestions where to go OR lunch at Château PICHON BARON with a $250 additionnal fee.

After lunch, we will enjoy a « tour exclusive »: Château MOUTON-ROSCHILD (1st classified growth), with a 2h30 visit and private tasting, including a 3 wine tasting.

Tonight’s dinner will be at the restaurant « L’ESTACADE », in the city of BORDEAUX, located on a dock offering a breathtaking view of the Gironde River, traditional French cuisine and superb wine list.

DAY 5: Château PHELAN SEGUR (Saint-Estèphe – visit, tasting, cooking lesson, lunch with wine included)

In the morning, we’ll drive to the SAINT-ESTEPHE area to visit the Château PHELAN-SEGUR.

A cooking lesson followed by a tasting at Château PHELAN SEGUR can be added for 250$/person.

Different options can be presented to you, like a vertical tasting or a cooking lesson hosted by the château’s chef followed by a complete visit and a wine tasting lunch at the château.

Château TRONQUOY LALANDE : light lunch with tapas, visit and tasting (2/3 wines)

OR : Visit at the new « Cité du vin » exhibition center in Bordeaux.

At 3.00pm, we’ll drive back to the town of BORDEAUX, to explore the famous « Quai des Chartrons ».

Diner will be on your own, not included in the tour but we’ll guide you to find a fantastic place.

We will give you advice and directions to spend a wonderful evening in the city of BORDEAUX.

We’ve come to the end of our time together. We can escort you to an accommodation of your choice to continue your stay in the city of Bordeaux (not included in the tour), or the Bordeaux train station or airport.

Ask your expert to add a night on Bordeaux on Day 5 for a last evening in town and do your shopping before leaving.
