Alfred Sommier, a prestigious private hotel in the heart of Paris

Built in 1860, the mansion of Alfred Sommier, a sugar industrialist, has just been restored by a descendant of the family into a luxury hotel. Preserving the soul of a family home, it offers 80 rooms in the heart of Paris, including 22 suites, historic lounges, a fitness room, as well as a restaurant and a bar opening onto a private garden.

As you enter the hotel, you will see a succession of spacious and bright reception rooms. The same checkerboard of white and garnet marble covers the floor and accentuates the effect of perspective. At the ends, the two marble staircases are majestic. In the reception room, a huge painting by the painter Malel represents the castle of Vaux-le-Vicomte and its park. Family souvenirs arouse curiosity.

A rare Parisian luxury hotel with a garden, the place is ideal for a meal, a drink or simply a moment of relaxation while admiring the ashlar facades. The garden terraces are topped by three impressive 14m high wall hangings. The work of photographic artists Nicolas d’Ursel and Fabien de Cugnac, they represent oversized flowerbeds from which emerges the romantic figure of Alfred Sommier as a young man.
