We recommend you book an hotel in PARIS to be there the day prior to the departure start of the tour (this accommodation is not included in the tour). <\/strong><\/p>\n DAY 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n Moring-<\/u><\/b> we will drive from PARIS<\/strong> to UTAH BEACH, NORMANDY<\/strong>. After a 3 hour drive (approx.), you will discover UTAH BEACH<\/strong>, which was a code name for one of the five sectors of the allied invasion june 6th, 1944. There, you will see the milestone \u00ab\u00a000\u00a0\u00bb monument that marks the start of the Liberty Road, which commemorates the victorious route of the Allied forces from the beaches of NORMANDY<\/strong> to BASTOGNE<\/strong> in BELGIUM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n We will have lunch\u00a0in SAINTE-MERE-EGLISE<\/strong> (wine\/liquor not included).<\/p>\n Afternoon:<\/u><\/b>\u00a0AIRBORNE MUSEUM<\/strong>, SAINTE-MERE-EGLISE<\/strong>. The AIRBORNE MUSEUM<\/strong> is located in the heart of SAINTE-MERE-EGLISE<\/strong>, a few miles from the DDay landing beaches, facing the church where John Steele famously hung from his parachute, and relates the heroic adventure of paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st AIRBORNE<\/strong> Divisions. Before or after the museum, we will take a stroll around SAINTE-MERE-EGLISE<\/strong> to discover the town, where hundreds of paratroopers landed during the night of June 5th to June 6th, 1944.<\/p>\n Driving through the countryside, we will discover the flooded lands which gave so much trouble to American soldiers trying to move foward.<\/em><\/p>\n W<\/u><\/b>e will drive to our accommodation for 3 nights<\/u><\/strong>, the ch\u00e2teau de la CHENEVIERE<\/strong>, a wonderful 18th century farm and mansion that became a h\u00f4tel in 1988. The building was occupied by the Germans during the second world war, and by the Americans after the landings.<\/p>\n Dinner<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0: ch\u00e2teau de la CHENEVIERE<\/em><\/strong> restaurant, offering creative cuisine and authentic local ingredients (wine\/liquor not included)<\/p>\n DAY 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n Free moring.<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n Lunch \u00a0in the town of GRANDCAMP-MAISY<\/strong>. A local restaurant offering authentic cuisine with local ingredients (wine\/liquor not included).<\/p>\n We will drive to the US<\/strong> cemetery of COLLEVILLE-SUR-MER<\/strong>. The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France is located in COLLEVILLE-SUR-MER<\/strong>, on the site of the temporary American St. Laurent Cemetery, established by the U.S. First Army on June 8, 1944 as the first American cemetery on European soil in World War II. The cemetery site, at the north end of its half mile access road, covers 172.5 acres and contains the graves of 9,386 of US military dead, most of whom lost their lives in the D-Day landings and ensuing operations. On the Walls of the Missing, in a semi-circular garden on the east side of the memorial, are inscribed 1,557 names. Rosettes mark the names of those since recovered and identified. Duration\u00a0: 2 hours approx.<\/p>\n Dinner <\/u><\/strong>\u00a0in the town of PORT-EN-BESSIN-HUPPAIN<\/strong>. The restaurant is located on the harbour and their specialty is fish and shellfish (wine included, liquor not included).<\/p>\n DAY 3:<\/strong><\/p>\n Morning:<\/u><\/b>\u00a0visit of the LONGUES-SUR-MER<\/strong> German battery. \u00a0The battery was part of the German Atlantic defense wall, located between OMAHA BEACH<\/em><\/strong> and GOLD BEACH<\/em><\/strong>. You can still see the 4 rapid fire 152mm navy guns.<\/p>\n Leaving the LONGUES-SUR-MER<\/strong> battery, we will tour along the coast where the NORMANDY BATTLE<\/em><\/strong> took place. Breathtaking views await you.<\/p>\n ARROMANCHES<\/strong>. First, we will see a movie of the 100 days of the NORMANDIE BATTLE<\/em><\/strong>, played in a 360\u00b0 theater designed for it. A highly emotional 30 minute movie\u2026<\/p>\n After, we will take a stroll in the town of ARROMANCHES<\/strong>, to take a look at the famous MULBURY HARBOR (PORT WINSTON)<\/em><\/strong>, an artificial harbor built by the allied forces in 8 months.<\/p>\n NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR\u00a0: <\/em><\/strong>We can also add a visit\u00a0 of the BAYEUX tapestry<\/strong>, which <\/em>is an 11th century <\/em>embroidered<\/em><\/a> cloth nearly 230\u00a0ft long and 20\u00a0in tall, which depicts the events leading up to the <\/em>Norman conquest of England<\/em><\/a> concerning <\/em>William, Duke of Normandy<\/em><\/a>, and <\/em>Harold, Earl of Wessex, later King of England<\/em><\/a>, and culminating in the <\/em>Battle of Hastings<\/em><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n Lunch in \u00a0a charming place. A museum where you will be in total immersion in the NORMANDY BATTLE<\/em><\/strong>, from the preparation of DDAY<\/strong> to August 29th, 1944.<\/p>\n We will arrive at our accomodation around 6.00pm. You will have an hour and a half to relax before dinner.<\/p>\n Dinner<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0in the village of ASNELLES<\/strong>. A talented chef, and wonderful local cuisine (wine\/liquor not included).<\/p>\n DAY 4:<\/strong><\/p>\n MEMORIAL MUSEUM<\/strong>, in the city of CAEN<\/strong>. This impressive museum is dedicated to PEACE and for close to 3 hours you can explore a complete history of the second World War in NORMANDY. The museum also offers several movies. On our way to the Museum, we will see the famous PEGASUS Bridge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Lunch at the restaurant of the MEMORIAL MUSEUM<\/em><\/strong> (wine and liquor not included).<\/p>\n Early in the aftenoon, we will drive along the coast, through the last 2 sectors of the NORMANDY BATTLE<\/em><\/strong>, \u00ab\u00a0JUNO BEACH\u00a0<\/strong>\u00bb and \u00ab\u00a0SWORD BEACH\u00a0<\/strong>\u00bb in the direction of HONFLEUR<\/strong>, our stop for the night and also dinner. A wonderful charming harbour, depicted by famous painters, such as BOUDIN<\/em><\/strong> and MONET<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Dinner\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0Again a young talented chef, who worked in PARIS<\/strong>, and came back to the city of HONFLEUR<\/strong> where he was born and opened his own restaurant.
