D1 – En route to Portugal

Departure from your region. Free lunch on the way. Arrival in the Porto region. Installation in your 3* accommodation in Porto. Welcome dinner with local Portuguese specialties in a restaurant in the city. During dinner, enjoy a Fado show, this typical Portuguese song. Lodging.

D2 – Discovery of the city of Porto

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, the day will start with a visit by electric bike to discover the city and its heritage with many influences: Art Nouveau buildings, neoclassical architecture, modern buildings… Accompanied by a local guide, explore the historic center and its famous Praça da Liberdade, the Ribeira district, classified by UNESCO for its medieval streets and its azulejos facades… Admire the Cathedral, the Lailo bookstore or the Louis I Bridge. Free lunch. Then, the afternoon will be free to walk at your own pace in the city. Optional: Let yourself be tempted by an exclusive surfing lesson from the beach of Matosinhos. Accompanied by an expert, learn the basics of this sport in one of the best surf spots in the region. Free dinner. Lodging.

D3 – Aveiro, the Portuguese Venice

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, drive to the charming city of Aveiro, south of Porto, nicknamed the Portuguese Venice because of its canals and its multicolored boats, the Moliceiros. Stroll through the fishermen’s district and enjoy the deserted beaches of the Reserva Natural das Dunas de Sao Jacintola or those of the Costa Nova. Free lunch. Optional: Guided visit of an oyster production on the Ria de Aveiro followed by a tasting of oysters and local seafood in an authentic salt barn near the Aveiro saltworks. In the afternoon, take part in a culinary experience, a real gourmet stroll through the city to discover the gastronomic delights of the region such as ovos moles or samosas de bacalhau, all accompanied by a glass of white wine. Return to Porto. Dinner at leisure. Lodging.

D4 – On the banks of the Douro

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, the day will be dedicated to the discovery of the Douro Valley, classified as a Unesco heritage site and famous for its vineyards producing Port and Douro wines. Drive to the picturesque town of Pinhao, located on the banks of the Douro River. This morning, enjoy a guided tour of an authentic vineyard followed by a tasting of several wines from the property. Lunch at leisure. Optional: Possibility of a lunch basket with Portuguese specialties to be tasted directly in the vineyard. In the afternoon, embark on a cruise on the Douro River to admire the many vineyards along the water. Climb aboard the traditional boats, the ribelos, which were once used to transport the wine barrels to Porto. Then, return to the city of Porto. Dinner at leisure. Lodging

D5 – Guimarães, the cradle of Portugal

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, discover the historical cities of the North of the country. Road to Guimarães considered as the birthplace of Portugal. Capital of the country during the war for independence, it shelters an exceptional historical heritage. Admire freely the Castelo de Guimarães, birthplace of King Alphonses Henriques, the medieval square of Praça de Sao Tiago or the Palace of the Dukes of Bragances. Free lunch. Then, in the afternoon, continue your day in Braga, ancient Roman city with many architectural treasures. Accompanied by a local guide, visit the historical center and the Sé de Braga Cathedral, the Bom Jesus Sanctuary and the Palacio do Raio with its azulejo-covered facade… At the end of the afternoon, drive to Viera Do Minho, close to the Peneda Gerês natural park. This evening, reconnect with nature by spending the night in a tree house. Installation in your accommodation. Free dinner. Lodging.

Day 6 – A day in the Peneda Gerês National Park

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, explore the Peneda Gerês National Park, created in 1971 to guarantee the protection of the landscapes and the conservation of the ancient local customs. Between breathtaking landscapes from the many viewpoints, waterfalls or picturesque villages like Castro Laboreiro, Lindoso or Soajo, this park is full of natural and cultural treasures. You may even see deer, the official symbol of the park! Lunch at leisure. In the afternoon, discover the mountains of Gerês during a horseback ride accompanied by an instructor. Meet the wild Garannos horses during this horseback ride. Dinner at leisure. Lodging.

D7 – Last Portuguese discoveries

Breakfast. This morning, enjoy freely your last moments in the region. Then, return to your region of origin. End of our services.
